Setting a schedule

The options depend on whether the routine is local or cloud:
  • Local routines run once at a specific date and time, or repeat every N minutes, hours, or days, with a time-of-day picker for anything daily or longer.
  • Cloud routines use standard 5-field cron expressions (minute, hour, day-of-month, month, day-of-week), with presets for Hourly, Daily, Weekdays, Weekly, and Monthly so you’re not writing cron syntax by hand. Pick Custom if none of the presets fit. Schedules run in your account’s timezone, not UTC, so “9am” means 9am for you.
Cron granularity is per-minute. There’s no way to schedule something to run more than once a minute.

Starting from a template

Click Templates on the Routines page for seven ready-made routines, grouped by category: Picking a template pre-fills the name, instruction, and schedule so you can adjust before saving, rather than writing it from a blank form. Templates that place phone calls or send WhatsApp messages need phone calling or WhatsApp linked first; if they aren’t, the template falls back to email where that makes sense (Feature Tips does this automatically).
