Dume isn’t limited to what’s happened in the session you’re currently in. From any session, you can ask about a different past one, and Dume looks it up in History, opens it, and answers from what’s actually in it.
What happens
Give Dume whatever clue you have, a title, a rough topic, a project or person’s name, and it matches that against your session History:
- One clear match — Dume opens it, reads it, and answers.
- A few likely matches — Dume asks which one you meant instead of guessing.
- No confident match — Dume says so rather than making something up, the same as it does when a connected tool has no data. See When Dume asks you something back.
Getting a better match
This isn’t a search over every message you’ve ever sent, it matches on what’s findable in History. A clear, specific session title makes this far more reliable than a generic one; rename a session from the three-dot menu as soon as it’s clear what it’s about. If Dume can’t find what you’re after, the fastest fix is opening the session yourself from History and pointing Dume at it directly: “Look at the session titled ‘Acme renewal’ and summarize what we agreed.”
