Why Personalize Dume?
Contextual Responses
Tailors answers to your role, industry, and current focus areas instead of generic output.
Right Technical Depth
Adjusts complexity (high-level vs detailed) based on your stated experience level.
Relevant Interests
Weaves in your specialty domains (e.g. activation, onboarding) when generating suggestions.
Time Savings
Removes repetitive re‑explaining of background; persistent profile informs every interaction.
Adding precise role + focus areas (e.g. “B2B SaaS PM, activation funnels”) improves relevance across workflows and agents.
Setup Process
1
Access Personalization Settings
Navigate to the personalization menu to begin customizing your Dume experience.

The personalization option is typically found in the main menu or settings area of your Dume interface.

Complete Your Profile Information
Provide essential details about yourself to help Dume understand your background and expertise.
Key information to include:

- Your name and professional title
- Industry or field of expertise
- Areas of interest or specialization
- Experience level in relevant topics
Be specific about your role and interests. Instead of “developer,” try “full-stack developer specializing in React and Node.js.”

Auto-research can gather information from:

- Your personal or professional website
- LinkedIn profile

- Other publicly available professional profiles
Only provide URLs to public profiles you’re comfortable having analyzed. Dume will only access publicly available information.
4
Save and Confirm Your Preferences
Review your personalization settings and save them to activate your customized Dume experience.
Once saved, Dume will immediately begin using your profile information to provide more relevant and personalized responses.
You can update your personalization settings at any time to refine Dume’s understanding of your preferences and expertise.
5
Set Up Your Profile & Preferences
Go to Accounts > Profile to configure your profile details, location, and measurement preferences to help Dume provide regionally relevant results, timezone-accurate scheduling, and more consistent experience across workflows.
You can customize:

- Display Name — The name shown across your Dume account
- Email Address — The primary email associated with your Dume account
- Current Location — Helps Dume surface location-aware content and event data
- Timezone — Ensures workflows, meeting summaries, and briefings sync to your local time
- Measurement System — Choose between Metric or Imperial for data display consistency
Keeping your location and timezone accurate allows Dume to deliver timely reminders, morning briefs, and calendar-aware insights.

Before vs After
Profile
| Scenario | Prompt | Before | After |
|---|---|---|---|
| PRD Summary | Summarize this PRD. | High-level summary without growth or onboarding emphasis. | Highlights onboarding funnel steps, activation KPIs, lean implementation, quick experiment sequence. |
| Email Triage | Triage my unread inbox. | Lists emails with generic priority labels. | Groups by growth experiments, flags investor updates, suggests follow-ups tied to 200-user goal, surfaces billing risk emails first. |
Each improvement is driven by role, focus areas, current goal and tone settings in your profile.
