Phone calling works two ways: you can call Dume, and Dume can call you.

Calling Dume

Dial +1 (315) 888-5569 from any phone, mobile or landline, and talk to your assistant the way you’d talk to a person. Inbound calling works from any number worldwide; there’s no country restriction on calling in.

Dume calling you

Ask Dume to call you back the same way you’d instruct a real assistant: right now, at a set time, or when something finishes, like a background research task. Dume calls your linked number when the trigger you set fires, from the same number: +1 (315) 888-5569. Save it so you recognize the call. This is also how a call-user routine works, like the Daily Standup Call or Evening Wind-Down Call templates — set one up once, and Dume calls at the same time every day.
Outbound calling (Dume calling you) currently supports these countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, India, United Arab Emirates, Germany, France, Brazil, and Japan. If your number isn’t in one of these, you can still call in yourself.

What it costs

A call is billed two ways at once, for as long as it’s connected:
  1. A fixed per-minute rate, charged every minute the call is connected:
  2. An AI usage charge, billed continuously on top, based on how much is actually said on the call. This works the same way a chat message does: more back-and-forth costs more, a short call costs less. See the Credit Cost Guide for how usage-based credit costs work generally.
Both charges apply to every call; the per-minute rate isn’t the full cost by itself. You need a minimum credit balance to start a call (a small buffer, not tied to a specific call length); if your balance is too low, the call won’t connect. See Billing & plans for your plan’s monthly calling-minute allowance, which is separate from and in addition to the credit cost.
Credit costs cover Dume’s side of the call only. Your own phone carrier may bill you separately for the call, especially at international or long-distance rates. That charge is between you and your carrier and isn’t something Dume controls or covers.

Yes. You verify your own number with an SMS code; there’s no separate number to set up on your end.
