Part of [Dume Office](/office/overview), currently in **beta**. Dume Slides is a native `.pptx` presentation editor in Cowork desktop. It opens and saves real PowerPoint files on your machine, and Dume's AI copilot is built into the editor itself. ## Opening a deck * **Ask in chat**: "Create a slide deck about our Q3 launch" opens Dume Slides with a first draft, slides and all. * **New File** inside Dume Office for a blank deck. * **Open an existing `.pptx`** from Cowork; it launches in Dume Slides already editable. See [Dume Office](/office/overview) for all three entry points in detail. ## What the copilot can do Because the copilot has the deck open, it can do anything you'd otherwise do by hand: generate a full deck from a prompt, add or reorder slides, rewrite the copy on a specific slide, or redesign the layout. Point it at a specific slide number rather than "fix the deck" for a tighter result. ``` Create a slide deck about our Q3 launch, 8 slides Add a slide after slide 3 covering competitive positioning Rewrite slide 5 to lead with the number, not the narrative Make the title slide match our brand colors Condense this into a 5-minute version ``` ## Where it fits with the rest of Dume Office Dume Slides is `.pptx`-only; there's no separate cloud integration for it the way Docs and Sheets have Google equivalents. If your source material lives in Google Docs or Sheets, pull it into a Dume session first, then ask Dume to turn it into a deck in Dume Slides.
