# WhatsApp

> Message Dume on WhatsApp and get the same assistant you get in the app, without opening it.

WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach Dume when you're not at your desk. Link it once and message the same assistant you use in the app.

## Linking your account

  <Step title="Open Connectors">
    Go to **Settings → Connectors** and find **WhatsApp Connection**.

  <Step title="Connect">
    Click **Connect**. You'll get a QR code to scan, or a `wa.me` link you can open directly on your phone.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send a message">
    Message the Dume WhatsApp number to complete the link. Once it's linked, the card shows **Connected**.
  </Step>

<Tip>
  There's a **remote control** toggle on the WhatsApp connection. Turn it off if you want WhatsApp for notifications only, without letting messages trigger actions.

## What you can do

Anything you'd ask in the app: check your calendar, get an inbox summary, ask Dume to research something, or check on a [routine](/routines/overview). WhatsApp doesn't cover everything, mainly account and integration management, which need the [web app](/product/web-app) or [Cowork desktop](/product/dume-cowork).

## Disconnecting

From **Settings → Connectors**, click **Forget Account** on the WhatsApp card. You can reconnect at any time by scanning a new code.

    Confirm you sent a message to the Dume number after scanning, not just scanned and closed WhatsApp. Check your connection status under Settings → Connectors.

  <Accordion title="Can I connect more than one WhatsApp number?">
    One WhatsApp number links per Dume account. To switch, forget the current connection and link the new number.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does this work with WhatsApp Business?">
    Yes, both regular WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business accounts can link.
